Returning to Australia after 6 years, this conference is a collaborative effort between The University of Queensland and Urban Utilities.

It is with great pleasure we invite submissions of extended abstracts for NRR24: NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT IN THE NET-ZERO ERA

The Nutrient Removal and Recovery (NRR) Specialist Group focuses on cutting edge fundamental and applied research in nutrient removal and recovery technologies, and applications of those technologies in the design, operation, and optimization of wastewater treatment systems.

NRR24 will be held in Brisbane, Australia over 17-21 November 2024.

The Program Committee is calling for submissions of high-quality, original and previously unpublished research in the themes of:

Nutrient Removal and Recovery Technologies Circular nutrient removal, recovery and reuse technologies
Towards Net Zero Direct GHG emissions, the role of nutrients in the emerging renewable energy economies and embodied carbon
Product Innovation Value-added product for tomorrow’s customers
City and Precinct Outcomes Integrated nutrient and water recycling for greener cities and agriculture
Control & Optimisation Mathematical modelling, optimisation and control of NRR processes
Microbiology and Biochemistry Advances Microbial ecology in NRR processes
Responding to Emerging Pollutants Fates of emerging pollutants in NRR processes

NRR24 provides a great opportunity to exchange new findings and progress in the field of nutrient removal and recovery. We are encouraging submissions from senior and young scientists and water professionals all over the world. We look forward to your contribution to the exciting and cutting-edge forum that is NRR24.

Following the peer review process, selected papers are considered for publication in “Water Research X special issue – Nutrient removal and recovery" after the journal’s review process. Please note that acceptance of a paper for conference presentation or selection of the full paper to be considered for publication in the related journal does not guarantee subsequent acceptance for journal publication.
