Poster and Oral Abstract Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract (2 pages + 1 page table and figures) according to the IWA format before 15 April 2024

Authors whose abstracts are selected will be invited to give an oral presentation or a poster presentation at the conference.

Workshop Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit a workshop application (2 pages) according to the IWA format before 15 April 2024

Authors whose applications are selected will be invited to give a workshop at the conference.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

Each presentation has a 20 min slot. We ask you to complete your talk within 15 min, so we can have some time for question-and-answer.

All presenters should upload your PPT file (Microsoft PowerPoint* (*.ppt) or (*pptx)) to the computer in the presentation room at least 15 min before your session starts.

Please prepare your presentation in 16:9 format.


Poster Presentation Guidelines

Poster size should be A1 portrait oriented (width: 59.4cm / 23 3/8 inch, Length:84.1cm / 33 1/8 inch). Do not exceed these dimensions.

Please note poster presenters must print their own poster prior to attending the conference. There will be no poster printing services available onsite at the conference

The posters can be displayed from 8:30 AM on Day 1 and should be displayed until the end of the poster session on the final day of the conference.

All posters should be removed immediately after the final session is over. 

Water Research X special issue

Following the peer review process, selected papers are considered for publication in “Water Research X special issue – Nutrient removal and recovery" after the journal’s review process. Please note that acceptance of a paper for conference presentation or selection of the full paper to be considered for publication in the related journal does not guarantee subsequent acceptance for journal publication.

Full Paper Submission 

After the peer-review process, the highest quality papers will be selected and authors will receive an invitation to develop full manuscripts to be submitted for publication in one of the IWA journals (namely: Water Science and Technology; Water Science and Technology: Water Supply; Journal of Water Reuse and Desalination; or Journal of Hydroinformatics). 

Please note that acceptance of a paper for conference presentation does not guarantee subsequent acceptance for journal publication, the final decision on journal publication lies with the journals’ Editor-in-Chief.
